Introduction to Chambers of Commerce ForumThe City of Casey is proud to host a quarterly Chambers of Commerce Forum. This forum has been established to give members of Chambers of Commerce and similar organisations across Casey the opportunity to come together to discuss issues affecting them, to hear from guest speakers, to ask questions and hear from others. The forum has been meeting on a quarterly basis since September 2007. Retail centres which have been involved in the forum to date include Berwick, Narre Warren, Hampton Park, Cranbourne and Tooradin. The objectives of the Chambers of Commerce Forum are as follows: - Encourage and support the participating Chambers (and kindred organisations) to become more effective
- Learn both from each other and invited speakers about what has and hasn't worked in promoting the development of Chambers and Casey’s commercial districts
- Establish clear understandings about the relationship between the Chambers and the City of Casey and the respective roles of each party
- Identify opportunities for co-operative action by the Chambers
- Identify and develop responses to key issues of common concern to the commercial districts of Casey (not limited to ‘Council’ issues)
- Identify positive actions that could be taken by the City of Casey to strengthen the Chambers and the commercial districts of Casey
To date a number of issues have been discussed including promotion of centres, car parking, and events. If you are interested in this forum and would like to find out more information, please contact Angela Smyth, Retail Centre Coordinator on 03 9705 5125.
